Close House Golf Resort

Close House is the home of the world’s only 2 Lee Westwood golf courses, and the North-East’s only PGA Golf Academy. Close House was the official venue of the 2017 British Masters on the European Tour.

Set in the beautiful and serene Tyne Valley, minutes from Newcastle and nestled between the banks of the River Tyne and the ancient remains of Hadrian’s Wall, the 250-year-old Close House estate grounds have been lovingly teased into two of the best courses in the country, with the Lee Westwood Colt Course gaining entry to the UK Top 100 courses club almost as soon as it opened.

Gateshead International Stadium

Gateshead International Stadium is the third largest sporting venue in Tyne and Wear and the North East’s only IAAF-standard athletics stadium.

The stadium is home to Gateshead FC, Gateshead Harriers Athletics Club, Gateshead Storm Rugby Club, and the Gateshead Angels Netball Club.

Sport Central

Sport Central is home to the hopes and aspirations of thousands of Northumbria University students, staff and members of the North East community.

A stunning £30m state of the art complex, situated in the heart of Newcastle city centre, our new flagship facility ranks alongside St James’s Park, Gateshead Stadium and Newcastle Arena as one of Tyneside’s most iconic and invaluable sporting venues.

With its striking architecture, Sport Central is a stunning landmark building in Newcastle’s city centre.

Sunderland Aquatic Centre

More than just a swimming pool, Sunderland Aquatic Centre offers a huge range of fitness and activity options. Alongside the 50m main swimming pool, which can be split into two 25m pools, there is also a diving pool, while the main pool also plays host to the fantastic fun Atlantis Adventure Mega Inflatable every weekend. The centre also boasts an enormous 140-station gym, as well as a variety of both virtual and instructor-led group exercise classes that cater for all ages and abilities. Furthermore, kids can also work off that extra energy in our fantastic fun soft play area.

The Northumberland Club

The premier racket sports venue in the North East of England with an onsite Pavilion which houses an array of group fitness activities.  The Northumberland Club is going from strength to strength and building on our major racket sports presence in the North East. The Northumberland club has recently refurbished and now has a new state-of-the-art gym, including a functional training zone, lifting platform, state of the art resistance machines, wide range of cardiovascular equipment, free weights area and group training.
