Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolands Roman Fort and the Northumberland village of Corbridge.

Hadrian's Wall

The Northern frontier of the mighty Roman empire, for three centuries, Hadrian’s Wall was a vibrant multi-cultured frontier sprawling almost 80 miles coast-to-coast. Astounding today for its sheer vision as it is for its engineering. Milecastle, barracks, ramparts and forts punctuate a diverse landscape.

Roman Vindolanda is one of Europe’s most important Roman archaeological sites. The visible stone fort dates to the 3rd century and the impressive remains include the fort walls, headquarters building, granaries and barracks.

The village of Corbridge is a jewel in the crown of Northumberland, with quaint shops, cafes and pubs.
