Having just travelled all the way from Queensland, Australia and following the recent tragic loss of their daughter Sara aged just 27 years old, Brendan and Debbie Gowdie are both determined participants in this year’s World Transplant Games.

Sara died in July only one week before her 28th birthday and following years of illness and two kidney transplants.

She was a wonderful, caring and beautiful daughter and is sadly missed by all her family and friends. Her father Brendan has also received two kidney transplants himself over the years but thankfully is now fit & well.

Brendan has entered the 5, 10 & 30K cycle races & Debbie has entered the 5K walk. As you can imagine their daughter’s death has been very traumatic, but still they decided to continue with their plans to highlight the need for kidney research & in memory of their daughter. He has even brought his own bike over from Queensland!!
