Launch of the Organ Donation Ambassador Program at Olympic House

The World Transplant Games Federation launched the Organ Donation Ambassador Campaign at Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The Campaign, launched in the presence of IOC President, Mr Thomas Bach, features Olympians all committed to promoting the gift of life in the lead up to the World Transplant Games which will be held in Perth, Australia, in April 2023. We were pleased to have Brooke Hanson OLY OAM from Australia and Dano Halsall OLY from Switzerland join us.

“I have been a long-time supporter of organ donation, and I am pleased to lend the support of the International Olympic Committee to raise awareness of the need for more organ donors,” said President Bach.

A new Gift of Life Baton was also unveiled at the launch by Australian Ambassador to Switzerland Mr Philip Green with assistance from 9 year old transplant recipient Eloise, is a legacy gift from Transplant Australia and the Australian Government to the WTGF to be used at future Summer and Winter World Transplant Games.

Thank you to the IOC, Swisstransplant, World Transplant Games Federation and all the member organisations who joined us from around the world in Lausanne today.
