Juniors 16 or 17 years of age are permitted to compete in adult age events but must then compete only in adult events.

These rules are provided for information only and the official rules will be released soon.
Rules: The event will be governed by Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) rules (http://www.fina.org/content/fina-rules), except as modified herein.
The breaststroke kick is allowed in butterfly events.
Format: The following events will be held: Freestyle (50m, 100m, 200m, 400m), breaststroke (50m, 100m) Backstroke (50m, 100m), Butterfly (50m), 200m individual medley, 4x50m Freestyle relay, and the 4x50m Medley relay. The 400 metre Freestyle will be swum in a special morning session on Day 2, before the regular program. For the 400m, heats will be formed based on seed times provided.
Preliminary rounds of timed heats if necessary, eight fastest times to final (no trials in 200m free, 200 IM, 400m free). If a scheduled preliminary heat “scratches down” to a final, the final will be swum at the scheduled time for the final. Donor competitors will compete in the 50m free in their own heat(s).
